About Warming and Humidifying
Jewyo Rhii is an artist who makes work about being small, weak and emotionally repressed. She produces books and artworks that offer practical advice on how to be comfortable, relaxed and content. Never without humor, her works are both useful guides for the cold, weak or lonely and beautiful creative proposals to reclaim and personalize the material world.

“Warming and Humidifying” is one of a series of subjects she deals with in her work and publications. In this case, she suggests solutions to the problems of a cold body and dry skin. Her drawings and photographs present a range of ideas for transforming everyday things into effective therapeutic tools, all drawn from her experiences of life in Seoul, London and Philadelphia.

The book contains a do-it-yourself manual for creating the right tools to meet your various needs and difficulties, showing how simple objects can be transformed with minimal effort into healing tools to relieve and enhance our well being. It also includes some primary ways to warm yourself by using various body parts, either alone or together. “Warming and Humidifying” is at once a practical guide to caring for each other and satisfying our desires, and a poetic reflection on the absurdity of our bodily needs.
